Go pixie – why not?

More and more women have become brave enough for the chop.
For most, a trip to the barber is all it takes to look hot. And for the more adventurous ones, it’s a little colour and the all so distinct part line for some va va voom.
Some have kept it all natural while for others, keeping a little chemical and extensions in there is a more enthralling option.
Cutting your hair short is trending right now with a million different styles to choose from.
“It’s not because I can’t afford doing my hair, because I can,” one woman boldly declared, “It’s just me looking for something fresh to do with my hair,” she said.
Women are going for the pixie cut in blonde, plum and any other colour you can think of.
It has even become acceptable in the workplace as a professional enough hairstyle.
It’s quite understandable why lots of women have embraced it.
It’s hot, it’s fresh, it’s clean and yes, it’s sexy.
Maybe you’re just tired of seeing your real and not so real hair on your comb or all over your bathroom floor – cut your hair short and this will be a thing of the past.
Your better half won’t have to complain about the mine field your hair creates every morning.
Generally short on the back and sides of the head and slightly longer on the top, a pixie cut will frame your face and make your cheekbones pop.
It’ll be like a mini face lift without going under the knife.
Cutting your hair short will even give your skin room to breathe, considering the soaring temperatures right now.

Admittedly, a pixie cut can seem intimidating at first, but trust me, once you go for a shorter style, you may feel you never want to return to longer hair dos.
You won’t have to spend as much time in the salon and in front of the mirror every morning.
A little product will go a long way with this style and as a result, you won’t have to restock your arsenal as frequently.
Don’t get it twisted, a pixie cut can provide just as much versatility as long layers, if not more.
Aside from the fact that it’s the perfect style for dealing with rising temperatures, it’s a timeless look.
A lot of women are not comfortable cutting their hair short because they feel longer hair covers up for a lot of their flaws but that’s actually far from the truth.
The secret lies in making sure your make up and jewellery are on point.
Go for a more defined eyebrow and bold lipstick and you’ll be just fine. The jewellery will be useful in ensuring you don’t look too plain.
While trends like Instagram-inspired highlights and pastel strands are having a moment, it’s hard to say whether or not they’ll become certified classics.
The pixie, on the other hand, is one of those styles that continues to go strong for decades on end, and will never look passé.
Compared to longer hair, it’s easier to maintain a pixie cut because you can easily play with colour trends.
Regardless of whether you’re channeling bold colours or subtle highlights, any colour-change you do will always make a statement against your short layers.
“A pixie haircut is like hot pants for the face,” said one fashionista.
It’s a low-maintenance style and thanks to the shorter length, pixies won’t take any extra styling time out of your already busy schedule.
One of the best things about having short hair is that you can just wash and go.
A hair cut could still be incredibly versatile just by switching up the texture or parting your strands in a different way.
By adding a little dry shampoo or some gel, you can use your pixie to create a totally different look to match every mood or outfit in your wardrobe.
If you want to keep the same shape, you’ll have to get frequent trims.
The good thing is once you get tired of the short hair, you can still do another hairstyle over it!
The pixie grows out gracefully and allows for some pretty creative styling experiments for those who prefer to buy time between salon appointments.
When you’re bold enough, give it a try!
